The Delegates were asked the following questions during
an interview aimed at getting to know them better...
- Question # 1: What interested you about Project
Exploration? Paleontology?
- Question # 2: What is your favorite pre-historic
animal/plant? Why?
- Question # 3: How does your Field Experience
in Wyoming, Montana, etc. compare with the Croc Delegation
Experience in D.C.?

Responded:
1. The whole experience working with scientists and
dinosaurs. I've always had an interest in Dino's, but
never really learned a lot about this in school, so when
I heard of Project Exploration, I was thrilled.
2. Pachycephalosaur-because even though it was a reptile,
it had some present day animal behavior- like Rams. I
also like the structure of their cranium, it's amazing.
3. It was a lot cleaner! Even though it was science
related, it was very different. This time we weren't looking
for any information, we already knew it and we were sharing
it with the rest of the world. The purpose was also different.
In Wyoming and Montana we went to dig for fossils. And
the trip to D.C. was shorter and provided a different
type of learning.

Frederick
Responded:
1. I love science and I always had a passion for dinosaurs
so I jumped at the chance to experience real fieldwork.
2. T-Rex was my favorite as a kid and it got me interested
in Paleontology. I guess because it was so fascinating
and hard to believe that such a creature ever existed.
3. It was great because of my field experience I was
able to see and appreciate all the time and pain staking
effort that was put into the excavation and reconstruction
of Super Croc.

Kendra
Responded:
1. I first found out about Project Exploration through
my teacher. The first thing that interested me was the
fact that I was going to be leaving to go to Wyoming,
but when I got to Wyoming I was all for the DIG.
2. I do not have a favorite animal/ plant because
I think that all the pre-historic animals are cool. I
also think that I have not learned a lot about animals
or plants to have a favorite.
3. I think the Field Experience in Wyoming compares
a lot with the Field Experience in D.C because the Experience
that Paul had finding the Croc was hard he had team work
and he was not afraid to get dirty. When we were in Wyoming
we had all of those things hard working people who were
not afraid to get dirty.

Yolanda
Responded:
1. Taking advantage of what people offer me knowledge
wise, working with other students who like to work and
are dedicated and persistent not only in learning, but,
in what ever they do.
2. My favorite is the saber-tooth tiger, because it
is big and wild as me, but not as wild as I am. The saber-tooth
tiger could not take down this General wolf. 3.
When I when to D.C it meant to me that I have had
field experience. I knew enough to answer the scientific
questions if they were asked to me. It meant that I am
ready to become an Advanced Paleontologist and I had a
larger assignment to complete as a JP and original Sister
4 Science leader.

Marco
Responded:
1. P.E. is an innovative organization. 2.
Favorite Pre-Historic Animal: Syntarsus sp. Nanotyrannus,
because they're enigmatic and challenge our current cladistic
views. Favorite Plant: Horsetail Ferne, because they look
cool and were loved by Hadrosaurs.
3. Each experience is very different; I've had the
opportunity to grow with each experience, I've had the
chance to meet new people and to become diverse. Each
experience I/ve had through P.E. is innovative and unique.
The croc delegation experience within itself, it was less
muddy as the digs, and just as exciting. D.C. was very
interesting since it was diverse and allowed me to explore
other areas of science.

Responded:
1. I think what first interested me about P.E. was
the fact that it had to do with Paleontology! Paleontology
was always something I was interested in, and P.E. seemed
the perfect thing to join to learn more about it.
2. My favorite dinosaur is the Velociraptor because
they seem to me to be sassy, witty, sneaky, but above
all vicious!
3. (One word: Dirt!) The D.C. trip was all about the
end-result of month's worth of research and work while
the field experiences are all about looking for something
to do research on! Basically, we experienced both extremes,
how you begin a scientific project by looking for something
and how it ends with a scientific announcement!

Edward
Responded:
1. What interested me in Paleontology was the dinosaurs
and the digging!
2. My favorite pre-historic animal would be the T-rex
because I like the way they scared and ate all the other
dinosaurs.
3. First of all, It's about pre-historic animals,
you are just discovering new dead life, and giving information
about it.

Judy
Responded:
1. When I first heard about the program I was unsure
of whether or not I would qualify for it. As for me interested
in the program, when I was younger I was always interested
in Archaeology and Paleontology, So I jumped at the opportunity
to apply for the program. Me being in this program is
helping in planning my future career.
2. My favorite Pre-Historic animal is the Velociraptor
because I always enjoyed seeing it in all the Jurassic
Park movies.
3. To me, its makes a big difference. In Wyoming,
there was a lot more work to do. Everyone had their own
duties to attend to. Basically, everything that was done
was done through team work. The Croc Delegation experience,
to me, was a great experience but I felt like I didn't
do much.

Elena
Responded:
1. I've been interested in Paleontology and dinosaurs
since I was knee high. I think that's what got me into
P.E., it offered me a chance to learn more about something
I already loved.
2. My favorite pre-historic animal is the Utah-Raptor.
I love Dromeosaurids (the ones with the big sickle shape
claw). Why? I can't really say, I guess I just think they're
cool because they're smart, fast and powerful.
3. My field experience was very rewarding, but it
was hard work. I enjoyed every single minute of it, but
I could feel it in my muscles that I was working hard.
The Croc delegation was just as fun and enjoyable, but
it didn't feel like work.

Susan
Responded:
1. When I heard about Project Exploration, I was
interested in the trip! When I became a Junior Paleontologist
the trip wasn't all I wanted. Project Exploration reaches
out and teaches in a fun and extreme way. I became interested
in Paleontology through P.E. I always liked dinosaurs
but never how much there was to them. I didn't know
the story!
2. I'd have to go with the Troodon! It had a big
brain and a strong grip!
3. The Super Croc delegation experience in D.C.
was more laid back, still busy but no fieldwork. My
experience on the field was NOT laid back! On the field
you sweat, you get dirty; you are pushed to your own
limits and work with real stuff. D.C. was sort of the
step after lab work and research. I love the fieldwork!
