Dr. Paul Sereno uses small tools and brushes to excavate the skull of <i>Carcharodontosaurus</i>. <i>Carcharodontosaurus</i>, pictured here with Dr. Paul Sereno, who discovered the species, is known as “Africa’s Answer to T-rex.” Dr. Paul Sereno is a world-renowned paleontologist, National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence, and the cofounder of Project Exploration, a nonprofit science education organization in Chicago. Discovered in the southern Sahara by a team led by Dr. Paul Sereno, the African pterosaur has a wingspan of 16 feet.
Dr. Paul Sereno looks through the enormous jaws of <i>Sarcosuchus</i>, a.k.a. “SuperCroc.” The six-foot-long skull of <i>Sarcosuchus</i> was discovered by Dr. Paul Sereno on a expedition to Niger. Dr. Paul Sereno’s life in paleontology has taken him to Argentina, Morocco, Niger, India, China, and Tibet. Here, he works on a fossil of <i>Suchomimus</i> in Niger.
