The possibilities of Dinosaur Expedition are limited only by your imagination.  The site is designed to be flexible to your needs.  You may do a single lesson or stretch a project through the semester.  Science teachers might focus of geology, life over time, evolution, desert adaptations, dinosaurs, or diversity.  Social Studies classes might gear their project to geography, culture, issues surrounding colonization and post-colonial politics.  A Language Arts classroom might focus on themes such as journeys, travel, deserts, and linguistics.  Math classes might utilize the enclosed information to write word problems, create maps and graphs, or conduct estimate and probabilities.

            The DE2K site offers a list of select websites, books, and videos that you can incorporate into existing dinosaur curriculum.  Our suggested resources have been checked for accuracy, availability, and classroom usability. 

Classroom Activities:

            Dinosaur Expedition offers standards-based, printable, one-class-period activities.  The lessons are designed for middle school students, but each offers suggestions as to how to adapt the activity to meet your class’ needs.

Technology Opportunities:

            The DE2K site is a great introduction to the Internet.  Students can send electronic postcards of the latest field images, click to sign Paul’s birthday-card, or check out our links page while learning how to send e-mail and navigate the web.
