Precisely
at two o'clock in the morning, the adventure began. All
the delegates met on 57th in Ellis Street, we boarded the
bus said our goodbye's and we were on our way. After about
three hours we made it to the airport. We wait for a while
to get our tickets and get situated. Then we had to go through
bag check. As we waited to board the plane, the delegates
were given name tag and a note pad.
|
Finally
we boarded the plane; the flight took about 2 hours. When
we landed we went for a tour of Washington, D.C.We went to
the zoo and saw zebras, parrie dogs, tigers, and pandas. After
having a cool drink at the zoo we were on our way to the Smithsonian
Institution National Air & Space Museum.
|
While
there the guard took picture of the delegates standing in front
of a giant picture. We went to an exhibit where you can watch
a movie. Another exhibit was sea-air operation. We saw World
War II Aviation. There was Apollo to the Moon. |
Next
we went to the National Museum of Natural History... We went
to the new Triceratops Exhibit, the Burgess Shale, we saw and
read about the Evolution's big bang. we went to the Ancient
Seas, the Fossil Lab.Later
on for dinner we went to the Lazy Susan Dinner Theatre. As we
ate we watched a play. Then we returned to the Governor Hotel
and went to bed. |
On
Thursday October 25, 2001 we toured the great National Geographic
new & old building. One of the places we went to was the studio
where the show is recorded, and received a behind the scenes
view of the control rooms. I personally thought it was cool
to go places that no other kid my age can go. |

Next,
we went to see how National Geographic magazines are designed.
The book is made on a computer and whatever image you want
to look up they have it available broken down for you in different
category. After walking around for a few hours we went to
lunch and then went to the Super Croc press release |
